Canary Wharf 1 Mile Open Water Swim Event

Turner Swim’s annual Canary Wharf 1 mile open water swim event takes place on Friday 17 July 2020. With waves at 06:30am, 07:00am and 07:30am we have a maximum of 50 swimmers per heat. This is a fantastic event for both those looking to train towards a goal as well as for experienced triathletes too. The event is before the Live To Try London Triathlon and so can be a warm up swim for you. So why sign up, swim hard and feel great heading off to work after!

Our swim starts and finishes at the Docklands Sailing and Watersports Centre. The course is one lap around the perimeter of Millwall Outer Dock. Swimming The Bosphorus

Swimming the Bosphorus by Swim Coach Andrew

Swimming the Bosphorus is an annual Cross Continental open water swim event between Asia and Europe in Istanbul. At 10am on the third Sunday in July, one of the worlds busiest shipping lanes briefly closes. Nearly 2500 competitors from all over the world then swim the 6.4 kilometres course in a maximum of two hours to try and complete the distance. Those who take longer than two hours are pulled from the water. on 22 July 2018, I swam the Bosphorus, a swim like no other and easily the most enjoyable swim I have ever been apart of!

Learn to swim competition with Yakult, Turner Swim and Olympic Medallist Jazz Carlin

Learning to swim as an adult in London

Turner Swim teamed up with Olympian Jazz Carlin by launching a 10 x one hour learn to swim competition for 4 adults courtesy of Yakult funding back in February.  Turner Swim instructors coached the 4 winners on a one-to-one basis. The participants also received a short mentoring session with Jazz and nutritional advice from a Yakult nutritionist.

A SW Londoner article, on 22 March, picked up the story:

“Carlin saw them at the start of their journey and then swam a length with them at the end of it, while the training was provided by dedicated coaches from Turner Swim. For Carlin, the courage shown by the four pupils, Ashraf, Lucy, Hanna and MyLinh, was particularly moving.
